Prayers and Announcements

Announcements & Prayers (Week of 8-14 Dec 2024)

(Weekly Prayer Schedule Follows the Announcement)

  • Special Thanks:  A very special thanks is extended to Bill & Ruth Cline for hosting our church get-together at the Tree Farm this week.  We had a great turn-out, a terrific environment, and a fantastic time singing carols and talking around the fire.
  • SPRC:  The Staff-Parish Relations Committee will meet today at 12:15pm following the Contemporary Service.
  • Ignite Youth:  Ignite Youth will meet this afternoon from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Ignite Youth is a small group for children in Elementary and Middle School that meets each Sunday afternoon.  Each week, we’ll enjoy games, a lesson and food.  Spread the word!
  • Men’s Chorus:  The Men’s Chorus will practice today at 5:30pm.
  • Bible Study:  Join us for Bible Study on the book of Genesis each Monday.  Two sessions are offered for your convenience: one at 9:30am and a second at 6:00pm.  No special materials are needed for the study beyond your favorite Bible.  Please invite a friend and join us as we study God’s Word together.   This week’s discussion will focus on chapters 18 & 19.
  • Weekly Prayer Meeting:  Join us for a weekly prayer meeting each Monday beginning at 11:00am.  We’ll pray for the church, our community, our nation and the world.
  • Choir practice:  The choir will practice this Wednesday at 6:00pm.
  • Children’s Christmas Program:  Next Sunday, December 15, the children will present a Christmas program with light appetizers to follow in the fellowship hall.  We hope you’ll plan to join us to celebrate the birth of our Savior in a program presented by the children.
  • Christmas Eve Service:  Join us for a Christmas Eve Service at the Rock Spring Campground beginning at 4:00pm.
  • Fifth Sunday Luncheon:  Please join us for a covered-dish luncheon on Sunday, December 29, at 12:30pm (following the 11:00am service).  Everyone is invited!
  • Methodist Women Christmas Dinner:  The Methodist Women will not meet for a Christmas Dinner this year.  Instead, the women will enjoy a dinner together in the Spring.
  • Children’s Message Volunteers Needed:  Each week Fairfield seeks to offer a short children’s message in the service.  We rely on volunteers to provide these timely messages.  If you would like to volunteer to teach a children’s message, the sign-up sheet for 2025 is available on the bulletin board in the hallway.
  • Phonetree:  Fairfield has a phone messaging service that we use to send announcements and reminders to the congregation.  If you would like to receive these messages, please contact Pastor Billy.
  • Prayer Schedule:  A new Prayer Schedule for this week is available on the table in the hallway.  Prayer Schedules are produced by our Prayer Teams and provided to help us broaden our prayer focus and unite the church in praying for specific causes.  Please pick up a copy today and join us in united prayer.
