  • Lenten Prayer Series:  During Lent, we’ll have a special emphasis on prayer.  In addition to a sermon series on prayer, many of the Sunday School classes will also feature lessons on prayer.  These lessons will be based, in part, on the book Powerful Prayers in the War Room by Daniel B. Lancaster.  We are encouraging everyone to read this short book (about 73 pages) during Lent.  Paperback copies are available at the table in the hallway for $10/ea.  Less expensive Kindle and Audio versions are available as well.

                      LET’S PRAY                                                      March 16-22, 2025

SCRIPTURE – NKJV

Prayer Starter

SUN

Jeremiah 7:24 - “Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the stubbornness of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.”

Lord, we claim to be Christians.  We read Your Word but we’re stubborn and choose our way instead of Yours.  Holy Father please forgive us!

MON

1 Samuel 15:23 - “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.  Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.”

Father, why are we surprised when plans don’t go our way?  We refuse to let You lead us.  In Your name we ask for a submissive spirit.

TUE

Acts 7:51 - “You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears!  You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you.”

Jesus strengthen in us the “fruit of the Spirit”.  We want to be Spirit led not by flesh that fails!

WED

Micah 4:5 - “For all people walk each in the name of his god, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever.”

Father when You know we’re putting someone or something above You, convict our hearts.  We vow faithfulness to You and You only!  Amen.

THU

Habakkuk 3:17 - “Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls-yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”

Lord help us remember Job’s words when everything is going wrong, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”  We want that kind of faith!

FRI

Haggai 1:6-7 - “You have sown much, and bring in little; you eat, but do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes.  Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Consider your ways!”

Lord Jesus, we keep searching for the things that never satisfy.  You and Your word are our daily bread.  Help us set our eyes on You!

SAT

Lamentations 3:40-41 - “Let us search out and examine our ways and turn back to the Lord; let us lift our hearts and hands to God in heaven.”

Lord we’re sorry for the sins we’ve committed this week by thought, word and deed.  We are ashamed for what we’ve done.  Please forgive us.
