Announcements & Prayers (Week of 23-29 March 2025)

  • Welcome to our New Members:  Today we celebrate the addition of our newest members at Fairfield and give thanks to God for what He is doing among us.  Please join us in prayer for God’s blessing on each of these new members and for Fairfield as we seek God’s will and direction for the ministry and life of the church.
  • Family Life Team:  The Family Life Team is a group of volunteers who plan events to bring the church family together for fun and fellowship.  Anyone interested in serving on the Family Life Team is invited to contact Jan Jetton.
  • VBS Planning meeting:  VBS will be held the week of June 2-6.  Please join us for a VBS planning meeting on Sunday, April 6, at 2:30pm.  Details regarding volunteer opportunities will be presented at the meeting.
  • WNC Workday:  A workday is planned for WNC hurricane relief on Saturday, April 5, at Gashes Creek Baptist Church (308 Gashes Creek Rd., Asheville).  Churches in the Denver area are attempting to help restock their food pantry with much needed items, including Jiffy Cornmeal Mix, peanut butter, rice, granola bars, and canned tuna & chicken (with pop-off tops).  Please leave your donations in the Commons Area at Fairfield for volunteers to take with them on April 5.  Volunteers are needed to help sort clothes and pantry donations, feed the community (from a location in town), and ground clearing.  Anyone available and interested in helping with repair projects may contact Jan Leford for more details.  Volunteers are asked to meet at Gashes Creek Baptist Church by 9:00am on April 5.  For more info, please contact Jan Ledford.
  • Pastor-Parish Relations Team:  The PPR Team will meet on Tuesday, April 1, at 5:30pm.
  • Fifth Sunday Luncheon:  Please join us for our 5th Sunday covered-dish luncheon next Sunday, March 30, at 12:30pm.  Everyone is invited!
  • Prayer Teams:  The Prayer Teams will meet this Thursday, March 27, at 2:00pm.  Anyone interested in being a part of the Fairfield Prayer Teams is invited to join us!
  • Choir practice:  The choir will practice this Wednesday at 6:00pm.  New members to the choir are always welcome!
  • Fairfield Methodist Women:   The Methodist Women will meet this Wednesday, March 26, at 10:00am in the fellowship hall.  All women of the church are invited.
  • Weekly Prayer Meeting:  Join us for a weekly prayer meeting each Monday beginning at 11:00am.  We’ll pray for the church, our community, our nation and the world.
  • Bible Study:  Join us for Bible Study on the book of Genesis each Monday.  Two sessions are offered for your convenience: one at 9:30am and a second at 6:00pm.  No special materials are needed for the study beyond your favorite Bible.  Please invite a friend and join us as we study God’s Word together.   This week’s discussion will focus on chapters 41-43.
  • Ignite Youth:  Ignite Youth will meet this afternoon from 4:00pm-5:30pm at Mountain Creek Park in Sherrills Ford. Ignite Youth is a small group for children in Elementary and Middle School that meets on Sunday afternoons.  Spread the word! 
  • Men’s Chorus:  The Men’s Chorus will practice this afternoon at 3:00pm.
  • Distribution of Church T-Shirts:  Church T-shirts are being distributed today at the table in the Commons Area to those who placed an order recently.  Payment will be collected when the shirts are distributed.

Psalm 145:18 - The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

 

Lord, we know that you are always with us…in both the good and bad times. May we come to you as a child seeking help and direction.

TUE

Ezra 8:23 - So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and he answered our prayer.

Heavenly Father, by fasting may we learn that You are hearing our prayers by giving us grace and mercy.

Jeremiah 29:12 - Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

Father, when we bow our heads and call upon your name in prayer, we know You are listening to our every word.

Romans 12:12 - Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

 

Our loving Father, when things are good or when we are struggling, may we always know we can come to You in prayer.

Philippians 4:6 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Father, with all the problems and worries that are in the world, we lift them up to you with thankful hearts knowing that we have been heard.

Heavenly Father, we know we can always come to You in praise, repentance, asking and yielding. May we never cease to pray.
